Nothing. Thats what I wanted for my birthday. But no, ..ma knows better..

'You need a custom closet,'

so twist my arm, harder, ouch, I 'll take the closet ma . But only on my terms. I need a place for my new boyfriend Joey to put some stuff. And not in my closet, so it's going to be the guest room closet for him.

A couple drawers, a hamper basket for knarly sweats and some poles. That's it. And some shelves. I take that back, a lot of shelves, so I can use what he doesn't.

'The closet lady of choice' according to my neighbor with whom I share an elevator is 'Jackie from Somerville'.
Great! a good tip. So what's Jackies number? uh. And where does Jackie work? uh.. 'Honey, just call around the closet companies and ask for Jackie who did my closets - that should work '.

Yeah, that should work, but I can't remember my neighbors name and it is way too late to be asking her what her name is. I see her in the elevator all the time, hate her ratty little dog.

So I get on the phone to find the closet lady. It goes something like this.

Ring ring..
'Hello, closet company.'
'Is Jackie there?' '
'Jackie who?'

Ring Ring..
"Good morning, '.............. Closets'
"Hi, is Jackie the closet designer there?"
'You must mean Dawn, hold on please.."
Click.

Ring Ring..
"Closet Solutions..how can I help you?"
"HI, I'm looking for Jackie.'
"This is She."

Bingo.

So Jackie comes by and measures. On time for the appointment. Good start.
My boyfriend wasn't too moved by the closet idea . He was lobbying for something else and decided to skip the meeting.

'So what', I'm thinking.. he will like what I pick. Beggars can't be choosers and I am a frustrated designer at heart anyway. Jackie and I can do it.

So that was three weeks ago and at this point the closet has been installed and about a quarter filled up with "his' stuff. The rest is mine. Thanks for the closets ma.
